Free seminars by Australian Education International
The Australian Embassy’s education team, Australian Education International (AEI), will organise free seminars on a range of education, training and research topics in conjunction with the IDP Education Australia interview program on 17-18 March 2007 from 12.00 p.m.- 4.00 p.m. at Queen Sirikit National Convention Centre, Boardroom 2-3.
Open to the public, free of charge, the seminars will be presented by Australian Embassy staff, Australian academics from Australia’s leading education institutions, Thai Australian alumni and experts on career options in Thailand, and IDP’s International English Language Testing System (IELTS) experts.
“We are very pleased to be holding the seminars to meet various interests of the Thai audience interested in exploring study and research options in Australia. The seminars will provide in-depth information on the quality education and research experience Australia has to offer including a focus on science and technology, PhD options and pathways, social and behavioural sciences and the range of Australian scholarships. In addition to these updates on innovations in Australian education, the seminars will look at the labour market and career options in Thailand. It is important that a quality education experience helps to guide students to an employment outcome. We focus on graduate outcomes as part of our measurements of the quality of the education experience in Australia.” said Education, Science and Training Counsellor, Jan Gough-Watson

- Science & Technology in Thailand and Australia by well-known Thai marine scientist, Dr Thon Thumrongnawasawas
- Doing a PhD in Australia by Australian Key Alumni, Dr Pimrawee Rocharungsat from James Cook University
- Studying International Communication: Careers to the World Start Here by distinguished alumni of Macquarie University Dr Sripan Rattikalchalakorn
- Social and Behavioral Sciences at UQ: Research, Programs and Careers by University of Queensland
- Quality Research Experience : for Thai Students at an Australian

In addition, IDP will hold several sessions of seminars on IELTS test tips. Participants will also have an opportunity to meet representatives from more than 50 of Australia’s leading education institutions. Apply for any course with participating institutions at the event and the application fee (AUD50-150 or around Bt1,300-3,900) will be waived.
