Lodging visa applications
At the Australian Visa Application Centre
VFS (Thailand) Ltd currently has an agreement with the Australian Embassy Bangkok to provide Australian visa application services in Thailand. Applicants, except for Refugee and Humanitarian Entry, can lodge their visa application in person at the Australian Visa Application Centre in Bangkok or at their nearest of the six selected GDA courier centres across Thailand.

Any applicant wishing to personally speak with an Immigration Officer about their migration visa application may do so by visiting the Visa Application Centre between 14:00 and 16:00 hrs each working Tuesday and Thursday of the week. Staff from the Visa and Immigration Office of the Australian Embassy Bangkok will be available to address queries and meet with applicants wishing to lodge migration visa application at the Australian Visa Application Centre.

Please ensure you have enclosed appropriate Visa Charges by Cashier’s Cheque purchased in Bangkok or Nonthaburi, Samutprakarn provinces; or Bank Draft purchased in Thailand and payable to ‘Australian Embassy Bangkok’ in Thai Baht.
Applicant should provide a pre-paid envelope (EMS) with self-return address with the application. The Embassy however, can take no responsibility for any losses of document sent or return by mail and /or by courier services.
Applications for Australian Citizenship will still be accepted at the Australian Embassy between 10:30 and 12:00 hrs, Monday to Friday, except public holidays.

Applications for Migration Visas can be lodged either at the Australian Visa Application Centre or by appointment at the Australian Embassy.

Visa application processing time
Resident Return, Visitor and Temporary Visa applications - 3 to 5 days
Student and Student Guardian Visa applications - 10 days
Migration visa applications - 3 months
Citizenship applications - 5 to 10 days
You will be fully informed of the reason for any delays.
Important notice for making a visa application
Applicants are required to disclose information about all previous visa applications. The provision of false or misleading information in an application could lead to the application being refused.
It is also important that you lodge a complete application. A complete application is one that provides all information necessary for a decision to be made. You should support your application with as much information as possible at the time of lodgement as a decision may be made solely on the information that you have provided with your application.
You may be asked to provide further documents or information relating to your particular circumstances after your application has been lodged. The list of supporting documentation provided is not exhaustive. You may also include additional documents if they are relevant to your application. You should provide original documents and a set of clear copies. All originals will be returned to you after the copies have been certified. You should also provide an English translation of any document in another language.
Application status enquiry by an authorised person
Australian privacy laws prevent this office from responding to enquiries from people not authorised by the applicant. This includes the person providing support to the application. If you want to authorise another person to be able to discuss your application with this office, or for them to receive correspondence about the application, you should indicate this on the application form, a written statement or by using a form 956.
If you wish to discuss any matter face to face with an officer of the Visa and Immigration Office you need to telephone and make an appointment. Appointments can be made by telephone 02 344 6400 between 14:30 and 16:30 hrs, Monday-Friday, except public holidays.
